It's been almost two weeks since I won a copy of Metroid Fusion on ebay and no word from the seller and no sign of it in the mail. I'll have to take action later today.

Howwver, to satiate my Metroid diet I picked up Metroid Zero Mission over the weekend. Now, just a day before picking this up I had finished my copy of Metroid Classic. Also I had forgottent hat Metroid Zero is a remake of the original NES Metroid. After a very short bit of play i realised "I'm playing the same game only with SNES graphics".

Shortly later I realized that "I'm playing not quite the same game only with SNES graphics". I'd hate to say it but as far as remakes go this is the best one yet. It's essentially the same as Metroid on the NES but there are many redisgns and tweaks that limit how you can proceed through the game. There are also little story bits here and there and a lot of new enemies and mini bosses. Not to mentiont hat every other room has been completely redesigned.

It shares the same basic plot and map layout but the pacing and style is all it's own. Also there's at least one whole new area that I've stumbled upon. The ship is actually in this game!

It's quite interesting to play after finishing the original version.

On a slightly unrelated note, I also picked up Castlevania II: Belont's Revenge for old school game boy and discovered that I didn't actually sell my copy of Metroid II: Return of Samus as I thought I had.

There was this thing going around about how George Lucas wanted to make some sort of uber version of the original trilogy with even more CGI and ties to the prequel trilogy. I have no idea if it's true but last night, in a dream , I was watching it.

I can't say it was nessesarily good or bad but it was quite a bit different than the normal Star Wars. Essentially I was watching A New Hope V 2.0 Things I remember,

Luke was standing on that shot with the suns where the dramatic music plays only the shot was very far out and a humongous image of Uncle Owen appeared before luke sort of encouraging him to leave home.

Later Luke leaves home in chase of R2 and he is jumped by the Tusken Raiders. Obi wan leaps out to his rescue all ninja Jedi flipping like the Prequel films. Then there were these phandoms weilding light sabers attacking the pair. One had two red sabers the other had a blue and a green one. Maybe it was suposed to be symbolic of the fight between good and evil.

Also there were some red Battle Droids in one part on the Death Star bridge (seen before we even see Tatooine).

The sad part is that given Lucas' ability to completely destroy his own franchaise, the whole lame "Phantom Jedi" thing could very well be something used in the remake.

Ok, so I bought a set of rechargeable batteries for my digital camera. 4AA Batteries and a charger. I noticed when I really got to taking photos I would go through them fairly quickly (like 2 hours). I figured what the hell, they aren't that much, I'll buy a second set of 4. 8 batteries and I'm set for pretty much ever.

Unfortunately I'm currently missing one of the original batteries. I don't really know how, the camera uses 2 batteries and the charger has to be used with pairs so no matter what I should alway sbe using 2 batteries at a time. How do I end up with an odd number? I don't know. This increases my need/desire for a second set since the single battery is essentially useless as it can't be used or charged alone.

So I have my second set, I charge them, I use them, That same night I step into my car and the batteries, 2 new and 2 old go flying out of the pocket ont he side of my pant leg. I find one battery on the ground outside the car, one down under the seat by feeling around and two I caught as they went out.

Later I realize that in my pocket isn't 2 new batteries and 2 old ones, but 3 old ones and 2 new ones.

Apparently I found the missing old battery and lost one of the new ones. I havn't been able to find it where I lost them last night AND I can't find the single old battery I had. So now, instead of 3 pairs of batteries and 1 useless single, I have 2 sets of batteries and 2 useless singles as the new and old batteries are different capacity and can't be charged together (but they use the same charger).

I guess I get to buy a third set of batteries. Also I ought to find a container to keep these in.
